I just got my power back, but news reports are saying New Orleans area may be without power for up to a month!
I guess on the bright side, I can now replace my destroyed 8 room house with a bigger house.

Louisiana Katrina damage
I am here in Baton Rouge and lost one of my Martin houses during the height of the storm. Fallen oak limb just took house and pole out. We had a lot of tree/wind damage and power outages, but consider ourselves blessed considering what has happened in New Orleans and the Mississippi coast.
I just got my power back, but news reports are saying New Orleans area may be without power for up to a month!

Hi Todd, Glad to hear you and yours came through Katrina as well as you did. I so hope everyone else in its path faired as well. During the hurricane season last year we were without power for a total of 16 days from the hurricanes that hit this area. So I can sympathize with what they are going to have to endure in this heat. Good luck to you my friend.

Glad to hear it turned out as well as it did. A martin house and pole is a small price to pay. Why not just get yourself two martin houses to celebrate your good fortune? Take care.
