Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

Hi doe.

quiet here, too...

So glad to hear your little adopted Purple Martin successfully fledged and achieved independence from his parents (you). That is as it should be.

I'll be interested to hear if he shows back up at your place next year...

Let us know - keep your chin up - go to a roost or something - but hurry - the migration has shifted into high gear...

You know it's only 4 months and 6 days until 2006 - they'll be back before you know it!!!
Sincerely,
Laverne
