Hello all, if you are concerned about Purple Martin conservation and you want a cost effective way to do your part, well....

Why not save money and use a boot?

This is a picture of Dale Hrncirik's boot, it successfully fledged 3 or 4 young in 2003.

WOW!!! That is quite a picture! I bet they liked the rough texture inside the boot....

I'm heading out now to the local Goodwill store to see if I can find some old boots...... lol!!

Samuel. You picture didn't show up. However, I've seen a boot made into a PM house. John Barrow made one a few years back, and gave it away as a door prize at Martin Fest, at Victor Stolls farm in Finger Tn. I really wanted to win it at the time, cause I've spent many years trying to get PMs, and I was sure that would have brought a couple pair in for me. I didn't win it, and still don't have PMs. :-( :-( CUL Lou

To view the photo, go to the MSN link and there's a page with photos, then go to Dale's album. It's a cool photo.

But why are you guys setting up a separate page? Seems to me it detracts from posting interesting photos and exchanges of useful information here. I know some experienced landlords don't like dealing with "potential landlords" here and prefer talking among themselves over on the Clubhouse web site. I drop in there to look at photos, but I worry about about this Forum being diluted further.

John Miller, I agree with you fully. I just created the Purple Martin MSN Group page so that Purple Martin enthusiast could create their own personal photo album and then use the "Img" tags to place their photos inside of their messages here. It is not meant to compete with or replace this forum at all. The only reason they upload their photos on the Purple Martin MSN Group page is just to "Img" tag them here. I still buy all my equipment from the PMCA Shop and encourage everyone on the MSN group to do so also.

CUL Lou, the picture is showing up for me, I was not able to experience the problem on my side. In case you have not found the photo though, here is the link to it. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Mr. Wilson

Now that I understand this, it sounds like a good way for folks to post a lot of pictures, and I never tire of martin pictures. I just hope folks will post one here with a note "to see more".....

I checked my records and 5 PM young fledged from the Tony Lama boot house.
