Has anyone heard anything about the success of the project? Or is it too early to know. Where should we look to find out?

Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

Hello Harold & Peg.

That's a good question. I would guess they will have to complete this season of data collection before they will be able to post any results. I don't know what kind of results there would be, except maybe how many roosts were actually reported. I'd like to know if they can see a pattern of movement by the martins as they head south. You know, roosts dispersing as others to the south of them increase in size. I'm sure there is much to be learned - probably many things we have never considered.

There are still some "known" roosts that have not been reported.

Everybody, please check to see if the roost you have visited has been reported. Each roost needs to be documented.

And another thing I have been picking up on is the desire of the PMCA to confirm the absence of a "suspected" roost. If you have gone to see a roost and hunted for it and can't find it - then report that, too. They want to know all of this information. If we don't provide the data, they will never know.
Sincerely,
Laverne
