Brian and Marlene and I went to the Wheeler dam roost tonight and we had a great time and saw thousands and thousands of birds. If you go you can go to the overlook on the south side next to the power plant or go toward the boat ramp and stop at the transformers and walk out to the bank and you will be much closer to the island and the towers where the birds are. If you can go by all means do, it is not like the river roost where you can float in the middle of the roost but you can get close on a boat and get face to face with them but from anywhere you will be impressed.
