They're already gone

My 6-pair colony have all left the house, just a day or two after the fledglings took flight. Seems early in the season to leave, but it's 100 degrees here today. Perhaps they've flown North!

- Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.
Perhaps they have...
... or perhaps they've gone to Tulsa...
Whichever way they went - they'll be back!!!

Mine come back each day in the morning, fly over the martin house with the fleglings but do not perch on it. They perch on a near-by street light for a few minutes, and then I don't see them the rest of the day. It is as if they simply want to look at their house from time to time.
