Given that snakes love to eat small birds. and given that sparrows and starlings are small birds and hard to control. ... Guess you are getting my drift. Why cant you setup a regular sparrow house with a good climbing platform for snakes and let them feast on your sparrows all year round.
THis also assumes it is possible to build a good snake guard on your PM poles.
This would seem to be a perfect way to control the sparrows/starlings year round without raising a finger.

Sounds like a plan to me. Ofcourse, you would want to make sure blue birds or other protected birds didn't nest in the box.

Yes, that is true. I am just saying if you put up housing with no predator guards as a method for controlling sparrows & starlings, just make sure if a bluebird or other protected bird nest there, that you put up a predator baffle and snake netting on it.jartzh wrote:Well I assume that snakes eat Protected birds anyways.
