It’s nearly time to bring the houses down for the season. Why are thoughts about replacing one of them with a S&S starling trap.

Sounds good. Controlling the Starlings and Sparrows is a year long job. Everyone you take out of the gene pool reduces the numbers so I say go for it. Just make sure you dispose of them and don't think driving 20 miles away and releasing them is going to help.
