I love birds of prey with a passion but I hate them when it come time for the young martins to fledge. Watching them and knowing you’re fighting a losing battle. I know I average between 350 and 400 fledgelings a year and I’m doing far more good then the hawks are downing bad. But it sucks when you witness the attack and you are just helpless. 😢😢😢

I’m so sorry. I’ve witnessed a cooper hawk capture a recently returned (from Brazil or S. America) and resting on the house - right in front of my son and I. Also, captured on my blink camera where the hawks wings wrap around my 3x3 foot trendsetter. I think gourds help in this situation. The babies don’t get so crammed. Try the horizontal gourd from troyer. My colony is smaller than yours but I live in texas and the birds are prey have pretty good populations and also nest around here

48 of my gourds are troyer horizontal gourds and the rest of the gourds at a mix of the huge super goirds and the smaller S&K Bo9s then I have two S&K barn houses that are modified for bigger rooms
