Our good buddy Rob from Louisiana has discovered a great find! Currently, Southern Ag has Carbaryl 5% for sale on Amazon. It won't last long! Kudos to Rob!

Hi all. As I explained on my other post. When I talked to the manager of southern ag , a couple weeks ago, he told me that yes, the EPA is fazing out carbaryl, but there is still some of the chemical out there.. and whenever they get their hands on some, they will manufacture it and sell it right away. So , periodically, a few units of carbaryl dust , may appear for sale, before it completely disappears from all shelves. Hopefully this product on Amazon is the real deal. It seems to good to be true, so keeping my fingers crossed!
Good luck

Martin Colony History: Several colonies with in 6 mile radius.
Have had visitor every year 2014-24.
Two large trees removed in fall 2024 and moved T-14 to a more open location.
2025- 1 SY pair. Fledged 2.

I tried to order some, but Amazon will not ship it to my address in PA. I’m not sure why. But I found it on a website called Peststrong out of Georgia. It was a bit more expensive than Amazon.
Bellefonte PA
2014, 1st year-a few lookers, no nests
2015-23. Visitors each year. But no pairs.
2024- most active year. 2-4 SY male’s hang out most days.
2025, 1 SY pair. 2 eggs, 2 fledged!! Other martins visited daily.
Still eliminating starlings and sparrows.

What's the difference in the Southern Ag 5% Carbaryl and the Garden Tech Carbaryl dust that is also 5% ?? Only difference I see is the Southern Ag stuff is $17.99, and the Garden Tech Dust is $22 for 2 one pound containers.

I'm betting it's the same, but I have no proof of it. Considering what Rob went through, I ll give either of those a try without hesitation.

I responded this to the other post. I checked further into the Amazon ad that shows 2 bottles of Sevin 5% carbaryl for $22. The ad says 5% carbaryl, but when you read down further, it says "Active ingredients: Bifenthrin". It does not list carbaryl as an ingredient. I already have a container of Bifenthrin, so I ordered a container of the Southern Ag 5% Carbaryl today. I didn't want to miss out in case it goes out of stock and possibly won't be available next year. I plan to treat the houses with the Bifenthrin I have now AND the Carbaryl I ordered today from Amazon.

Martin Colony History: 2019 - Sighting
2020 - Pair investigating
2021 - Got 2 eggs. HOSPs poked holes in them. Commence HOSP reduction
2022 - Off to a good start, tree swallows took over and Martins left
2023 - Off to a good start, Martin population dwindled and they eventually left
2024 - New standalone pole and gourd rack. 1 nest, 4 eggs, none hatched
2025 - 9 nests, 37 eggs, 23 hatched, 19 fledged!

Did anyone else receive the southern ag yet? I ordered a container right when I saw the other post about it. It’s status hung in limbo, and today got a note from Amazon saying it got delayed until late June/early July.

I have not received mine from Amazon yet, in fact it hasn't even shipped. Starting to think it was not in stock and they are waiting for it to come in??

Same here. Seems like it took a long time to receive it the last time I ordered it.

I too received advice via email from Southern Ag to try ordering on Amazon. When I tried, Amazon said they could not ship to my address (Missouri). Searching online, I found Southern AG Carbaryl 5% Dust, 1 lb canisters, at Peststrong, Inc. If you search online, confirm right company. Address is 6400 Atlantic Blvd., Ste 110, Norcross GA 30071. www.pestrong.com. So, I ordered two canisters, $25.95 each, includes UPS shipping, and arrived yesterday. Hope this helps some folks and their birds...might as well empty the shelves at this business.

Thanks John, if Amazon doesn't ship soon (my order still hasn't shipped), I will cancel it and order from Peststrong. John, is there any type of date on your containers? Maybe a mfg date??

I do not find a manufactuer date on the canisters. There are what I guess are lot numbers, but I don't have access to information to correlate to manufacture date. The Petstrong website has a form where you can ask questions. Might be worth a try.
