Help for Bristol, Indiana
I put my gourds up in 2017 and this year I relocated the gourds and put up a new 12 room house. I keep them cleaned out every two days, play a Purple Martins CD and have yet to get any. I am so sad and frustrated. Do you think I may still get them this year (it’s June 9) and any suggestions going forward???

Likely it is too late in Indiana for this season. Post some pics of your housing as well as a screenshot of your property from Google earth. Sometimes things can be spotted by the folks on here to help you out.

Your pretty far north in IN, so I would say you still have a outside chance (not great but not 0%). I am a little north of you, and I am still seeing a few new SYs showing up the last few days. I would say, that when I was starting and prior to getting any mating pairs I left my house up until late August and had some visitors in the fall. That next year I did have my first mating pairs (only 3 to start), but i wonder if they were those that visited on their way south the year before. Hang in there, all you need is a few to get the ball rolling.

This forum has pretty tight rules on picture size. I can't remember but it has to be resized so the smallest side is like 400 or 500 pix. If you have a screenshot saved on your desktop (assuming windows) you can right click on the pic, hit edit, and then one of the options in the default editor is to resize. You can resize by percentage or number of pixels. Select the pixel option and change the largest side to 400.

We are a few miles south of you in Goshen. We had one pair 30 years ago. Despite doing everything to attract them time passed. Last year the clouds parted, the sun shown and two pair moved in. This year we are up to 5 pair and counting. My advice is hang in there. If you live long enough they will come.
