Martin Colony History: The first year I started keeping track was 2023
2023 - 1 T-14-
38 eggs
28 nestlings
26 fledged
2024
67 eggs
56 nestlings
54 fledge
2025
Added another T-14 & 4 gourds
157 eggs
140 young
126 fledgling

So the other day I did a Martin Nest check and I came across a dead female in apartment number 10. She had four eggs, so I took two of them out and put them in apartment number’s 8&9. Since apartment.#8 had had 5 eggs, but1 had gotten kicked out. So far the females in numbers 8 & 9 didn’t kick the new eggs out, I thought they might. The male in number 10 immediately got another female and she kicked the other two eggs out that were left. So the question is should I leave the eggs that I moved to apartment # 8 & 9 in?

Yes, id leave them where you put them. No harm. Others may have an opinion on that. Besides unless you marked them, it may be hard to tell.
I'm more versed in moving smaller chicks from one to another compartment. Can be tricky, lots to consider.
Think you will be ok, hope they hatch!

Hi.. do you keep records of when the eggs are laid in each compartment or gourd? It helps to do this .. if the eggs have already started being incubated, it would be best to put the eggs in nests, as close to the same laying date .. this will prevent you from having the possibility of chicks that have hatching dates, way far apart. It can cause problems down the road, for example, if you have 12 day old chicks with new hatchlings in the same brood.
Good luck! Hope it works out great.
