.. Hello Everyone... My Martins have arrived a little early this year.. (about two weeks early that is ).. I still had my gourds and houses all plugged... Was going out to see how hard the wind was blowing and if I needed to lower the racks again.. But there they were singing and flying all around the closed gourds.. So I went ahead and opened about 8 gourds.. Season has started for me.. (A little early, but that's ok) ..

Hello Mr Reynolds. Exact senario happened to me. Two weeks early, stepped outside and heard a male scout. Weather was brutal last night.
ImageMite control, heat venting, predator protection and additional feeding during bad weather add up to success.

Same here in central Kentucky. Previously, my earliest arrival was March 28. This year- three males showed up March 14. SUPER EARLY  I noticed the first female this morning- not sure when she snuck in. Today is quite yucky, windy-cold-drizzly. Hopefully milder days are ahead for all of us.

Best wished for a wonderful martin season!
