Hello everyone. Every year is different isn’t it! I’m having an excellent year. I’ve come up with something that maybe others have done in the past but I found that it’s working pretty well. There’s no way I can lower my houses now with all the projected fledge dates. I found three fledglings on the ground today. two manage to takeoff once the grass died, and the third was a little small. I put it in one gourd that I’ve been hanging on a shepherd hook close to my Martin colony. I had a pair lay four eggs in there, but I believe the hawk got one or both of them. Anyway, the Martins watched me put the fledgling in there and within minutes, one came over and started feeding it. it’s definitely worth a shot. There’s no way I could put them back up in the house and I’m really excited that it seems to be working out. Just wanted to pass this along. Rob.
