Question 1) I purchased the Trendsetter 18 compartment for my colony and in the #14 spot (posterior bottom right when facing from my porch- on south side of house) I had 10 eggs in one nest. I spoke with Kathy Laine, another landlord in Virginia and she said it was likely a sign of something wrong. Well I think it was. Only 2 hatched and are growing as if they were 1 week apart. I have a significant amount of SYs (Subbies) this year so I think this is why? Any recommendations or input appreciated. I still have my 6 room birds choice and I have a transverse fancy gourd which had only 6 eggs. It’s odd. My colony is growing! So thankful to God for these birds- I dread when they leave me but it’s part of being a landlord.

Question 2: where did the Purple Martin Fanatics YouTube channel go?!! There are no 2024 videos except one short.

I wish you all the best.

Sonya,
Happened to a few landlords this year, we all believe its a double clutch. Not a real problem. One clutch wasn't going to hatch, so she laid again. Not many will be incubated out of all those.
One sounds like a runt, worth watching. Perhaps if you have a nest with the same size chicks move the small one but don't want to overwhelm a big nest.
Don't know about the channel, perhaps ask Brad biddle or Kathy freeze.
