Thanks again to everyone that answered my questions about our purple martin house. We surely appreciate all of your suggestions on revisions - but at the end of the day - we kept it the same. If we have luck this year, we may make some changes to it next year (options to check the nest box and larger compartments).

We had some thoughts about where we finally put it in the yard. We have quite a few trees right behind our home (Oak tree and some Crepe Myrtles) and also a pretty good size Crepe Myrtle in the yard; so we didn't want to put it too close to the trees. Also, we didn't want it too close to our home. So we put it right in the middle of the yard! It's all cemented in (for this season at least). Hopefully, we'll have some success. I'm posting a pic for your viewing pleasure - lol!

Sounds good Ma’m, looks like a good location. If you have some birds show up I’d suggest throwing a predator guard on that pole.

Looks like a great spot in the yard. Those trees are far enough away, they'll have ample flyways. Now the hard part, waiting on that right pair to get you started.

Looks like a good open site. Are you playing the dawn song to help attract the Martins in to have a look. Anything you can do to make it appear like other Martins are there will help.

Maybe just in the morning for a few hours.It is a very strong attractant. If you get a colony they can be quite noisy as well....

Thanks, Jeff! You are right - a colony will be noisy, too. We will definitely consider getting the CD.
