Two martins drifting and calling over the house just a bit ago!
6 days early, wow, man thats great! Hung around a bit, swinging down, calling to each other.
Looked like males both.
It starts!!!

Same dang day! There are alot moving now, heard one calling way up out at the oso preserve just now, way way early for those birds so suspect migrants. Lots of bugs flying here now, tons of rain along the coast so they are all doing ok.

Martin Colony History: Colony started in 1998. 2 s&k modified houses and gourd rack

Congrats on your first arrivals Tom! Let the games begin.. I’m at about 12 total right now too brent.. more than half are definitely males also.. I remember last year, it was mostly males early on, then more and more females started showing up..
