First Arrival at 4:10pm! ASY Male, my earliest arrival to date, 11 days earlier than last year!
Pulled into the driveway from picking my daughter up at school, looked up as I always do this time of year, gliding in over the roof of my house from the backyard an ASY Male. He was circling the driveway low and yelling at me. “Open my housing up please”. Ran to the backyard with him circling. As I was lowering the gourd rack to unplug he landed on the house perches watching me and waiting. Very cool.
I need to take a day of annual leave from work tomorrow. lol

Rob, absolutely that first arrival definitely never gets old, it’s like being a kid on Christmas morning!
Tom, I know, I was scrambling to get the rack down, unplugged and back up so he didn’t have to wait… Even though it’s been up and ready for 2 weeks….
My daughter??? Oh crap, I forgot about her, thanks for reminding me, I think she’s still in the car… lol
Brent, I know exactly where you’re coming from! One of the first things I said to my wife is now we gotta keep em safe. While I was cranking the rack down and up, and he was sitting there watching me I’m thinking, I hope a hawk doesn’t snatch him off that house… We have a nor’easter blowing through tomorrow, then some better weather and back to the 70’s for the weekend, so a couple of hurdles. Got 2,000 crickets in the freezer so I’m gonna try and work on supplemental feeding. Haven’t had much luck with it but gonna keep trying.

Good news for you.
I had similar experience with these birds that I'll never forget.
In off seasons I'd cover my Martin house with a large garbage bag. Mine showed
up one day and I saw them just sitting in my next-door neighbor's tree. So, I quickly
lowered the house and removed the bag and as soon as I did here they come out of that tree.
They don't easily forget. Anyways, good luck with your new season.
