Neighbor has a Purple Martin in Arkansas

Yesterday my neighbor, Reba called to say she and her husband Lavern had spotted an adult male. They beat us this year. We usually get one first. So the first Martin in our neighborhood was February 10, 2023.

That’s amazing.

I’m here in East Texas and waiting on our first arrival. Hope it stays warm enough for the Martin to survive.

I lost 7 when we had the ice storm in Texas a couple of years ago. I fed them crickets but it lasted two weeks and eventually the crickets were gone and roads still were iced in.
