I currently have a 12 room trendsetter pole and a 24 gourd Gemini setup in line about 24 feet apart I am thinking about adding a second Gemini was wondering if it would be better to keep housing inline or possibly putting in a V configuration not sure how close together they should be?Thanks for any replies

Wow! Well I hope you fill them up. I read that Mr Troyer believes poles should be 8 to 12 feet apart, for 3 houses a V formation works for him. He believes it keeps the martins oriented. Guess if you have all the same housing that makes sense.
Consider how well you can cover the new housing if you have to shoot sparrows or starlings.
We are putting up some new housing- going with 12 feet from the gourd porch to gourd porch, in a straight line. The other rack, going to use the v formation.
Hope this helps,
Tom

A good house sparrow is a dead house sparrow.

The birds will not care one way or another....I always just set my houses far enough apart so that if they are up or all the way down I have enough room for my mower to go in between them. I have a 5 acre yard so I have a fairly large lawn mower. I have mine in a straight line but only because I am particular about having them look good. They run parallel to my house so if they were in a spot that having them in a different pattern would look ok on the property I might do it. Long story short, whatever you think will look the best is fine, the birds don't care.

,, Buckeye .. I don’t think the Martins will care Straight line or in a V configuration... Mine are all in a Straight line and my neighbor has his in a straight line,, probably because of the look.. But the Martins won’t care.. Glad to hear you are expanding your colony.. Good Luck

i put mine far enough apart so if i had a pole failure it shouldn't hit the one next to it. as far as formation, i'm putting them whatever fits and looks ok.
