2022 - 1 pair, 5E, 4H, 4F
2023 - 2 pair, 9E, 5H, 5F
2024 - 4 pair, 16E, 16H, 14F (2 more pair started nests but failed due to weather/loss of mate).

usually only see 1 at a time, but sometimes 2....but didn't get a very good pic of the 2.

do the nestlings move their fecal sacs to the front? i was watching one w/ his head out, i look away for 5 seconds, look back and he's gone but there is a dirty diaper at the door. i know i've seen mom feed from the outside then leave w/ a sac even tho she never went in. was wondering how she was getting them.

ah so they deposit near the front, not actually pick it up and move it.

i appreciate it, i know i post a lot and never know if i'm just being annoying. lol

Love the pictures! My three nestlings are 2 weeks old and I can't wait for them to which this point. Love checking them every 5 days but I can't hardly wait for the next check! Thanks again for sharing!

getting close. he was half way out, even had his toes out the door.

Absolutely beautiful. TY for sharing. I hope next year I have some nice photos.
Took pictures this year, but my martin housing/equipment, shall we say, is humiliating. But we are determined to change that.
If someone told me a year ago, an animal will enter your life and you will be enchanted by it, worried about how to care for it, etc
I would have assumed I adopted a shelter pet.
They are wonderful.

Great Pictures! It's bittersweet when the birds start to fledge. Your happy with a successful season, but sad knowing they'll be heading south soon and things will get quiet. Sure is lots of fun!

^^^Truth^^^ here. I love the phrasing and sharing of "enter your life and you will be enchanted by it"...these photo's bring up thoughts of dedication and exploration by the cast of characters that were captured so brilliantly.

Great pics. I never get tired of the sight of the chicks sticking their heads out. It’s always a good sign that things are progressing well. Enjoy the show.., flying day is coming and so fun to watch…
Congrats on your success and helping these awesome birds increase their numbers.

don't be embarrassed to share, not all of us have amazing set ups. you inherited yours, so no shame there. it will help us help you, and will be a great record of the progress you make.

Too true, and well said. We do what we can with what we have. Enchanted is a perfect word to describe the feeling, I often struggle trying to pin point just what it is about them. Enchanted. Perfect. Thank you!
I started out with a heath house, right out of the box. They accepted it. Still have it, although its gone through some face lifts, and major surgery...they suffered through my learning curve and stuck with us. I am amazed that they did.
A good house sparrow is a dead house sparrow.

Martin Colony History: 2005-2019. Lots lookers, 2 successful nesting's.
2010-1 pair nested, 4 eggs destroyed(Wren).
2012- 1 pair nested, 4 eggs, 4 fledged
2019- 1 pair nested, 4 eggs, 4 fledged.
2021- 10 pair, 40 babies fledged.
2022- 17 pair, 10 eggs not hatched= appxy. 57 fledged.

Thanks for sharing. Have 11 babies left to Fledge. Should fledge in 4=8 days.
They will All be in the sky.
