Using perch arms for snake netting

Anyone ever used the purple martin perch arms for snake netting on round poles? The perch arms are designed for round poles, each arm is 27 1/2 inches long. They come in sets of 3 aluminum arms that have both an upper and lower level and each level attaches to one of the two central hubs. Added to that the hub that attaches to the pole would expand a bit if you used larger bolts. The array would hold snake netting nicely, two levels to hold the netting. Zip tie the net to the perch arms.

Wind would not wiggle this thing, it snugs tight to the pole. Currently our wooden pole brace is about 8 inches under the first layer of netting, netting extends out 15-16 inches from the center of the pole; winds are always blowing here so need the wooden brace but 27.5 inches of snake netting in one direction-54 inches all the way around will really add some protection it seems to me.

It seems they sit around and cane is a good alternative to perch arms. For the square pole iv a fix but those round trio poles have been driving me nuts; the fix has been under my nose for a long time.
Went out yesterday to see how it looks, just brought the arms- it will fit like a glove. Even if one wanted just one level instead of two, the arms have two hubs to connect to the pole. One purchase, two snake guards.

Ps: if you don't like the distance gaps between the three arms, guess you could drill a hole at the end and run a wire around it to give some more support.....

What i do is use a tomato plant funnel or sometimes referred to as towers. . I cut it open on one side (adjust to height you need) then zip tie it at the bottom of the pole. Then stuff it with bird netting. Thus far landlord three snakes 0. They can't move an inch

I did that this year, caught one this season three last season. Works great, but what I also found was the wind would blow 40 45 sustained and one side would sag. Id straighten them but we have a lot of snakes, so would worry I wouldn't be there at 0200 but a snake would. Probably overkill but I like the frame it presents and its made for a round pole. Can stuff it with netting as well.

As long as netting is up and it works life is good for our birds!

I liked those long "pokes" as my wife calls them, facing down....so upside down? I don't much like tomato so a frame designed to grow them is perfect for a snake guard. Haha.

Its a good strong frame but boy the wind here.
