I've posted a couple times in the last few weeks about my first nesting pair (SYs) after 8 dry years. Based on my nest checks and information from this website, I wrote the following down on my calendar:
Before we left for vacation on July 1st I did a quick nest check and here's what I witnessed:
I love science! God's creation will never cease to amaze me. Unfortunately, we left for a few days. I hope they protect the little ones from the bachelor SYs. I'll have another update next week. Enjoying every step of the way.

* 2017 - 4 pairs, 16/17 eggs hatched, 16 fledged, 16 banded - 2 banded SY returned in 2018 (12.5%)
