2023 - 2 pair, 10 fledged, 2 HOSP, starting to get visitors as they migrate

Hello all - has anybody used a product called Snake-A-Way? I bought one either at Home Depot or Tractor Supply and the reviews sounded good. Most of the reviews stated they had snakes but used Snake-A-Way and they didn't have a problem anymore. Of course I'm always skeptical with reviews but most of them were positive. I was sitting on my swing in my front yard and saw about a 3' black snake crawling around. I wasn't heading towards my Martins (yet) but the only good snake is a dead snake. I grabbed my pitch fork and stopped it in it's track and cut it's head off with my ax. I do have a 5 1/2 foot 6" PVC on the Martin Pole with a squirrel guard above it with Bird Nesting wrapped around it so I'm hoping that would have stop him (or any other Snake/Raccoon). Let me know if anybody heard of Snake-A-Way and it ya'll think it works.

Martin Colony History: - First 24 compartment colony built in 1996 in Awendaw, SC.
- Just replaced a 32 compartment colony built in 2013.
- New 2022 colony has 40 compartments, made entirely of 1/2" PVC-Board.

We've seen several posts showing success, but in some cases the snakes get tangled & trapped, so you might have to deal with that. I was going to use it but went with an oversized cone instead.

Where do you get the oversized cone? I've searched the internet and see them but they don't say where to get them. I've asked Home Depot, Lowes, Pet Smart and Petco and other lawn/garden stores if they have them or where to get one and they don't know. I've made a 6" cap with 3' dowels attached on 4 sides (might be going to 8) and am going to put the bird mesh on it. I'm trying to do anything to keep the predators away. I have some tin that I've used for flashing but it's only 6" long. Thanks for your info
