A heads up to everyone that accesses PMCA forum on facebook. I'm in Facebook Jail because someone asked what to do about an invasive sparrow. I told them they should shoot it.

They looked at PMCA forum rules which prohibit killing any PROTECTED species (owls, hawks, snakes). Facebook doesn't know the difference between a protected species and one that isn't protected.

I wonder how they think duck hunters, dove hunters, goose hunters, deer hunters manage to get their prey.

I appealed their decision - tried to explain the difference between protected and not protected - they'll get back to me within 21 days (maybe). Anyway, be careful if you tell anyone to shoot a starling or sparrow (you may be my cellmate).

Bob,
I'm the kind of person (as are most here) who would join Facebook just to say:
Shoot, trap and kill all the sparrows that even look sideways at a martin house. Give them no rest, destroy nests and eggs.

I'll be a good cell mate, can discuss best pellets or sparrow trapping strategies until we are sprung.

Tom
A good house sparrow is a dead house sparrow.

Welcome back to the dark side Bob. I guess you were found guilty before they checked the rules. Maybe you could sue for wrongful imprisonment. :)

The correct response from you Bob, is to boycott anti free speech Fakebook forever. Whether or not you have the testicular fortitude to do that remains to be seen. I pray that you choose the right path and follow it.

I am not a member, but my Wife is. She likes to keep up with her Family (pics and such posted by them). I can't understand how people on Facebook keep posting personal information that everyone can read/see. Things like posting that they are on a 2 week Cruise celebrating their 25th Anniversary on April 3rd, or whatever. Then later posting pics of their Birthday Party. They just put that they are away from their home for two weeks (come by and break in, I won't be home). Then putting Anniversary dates and Birthdates that can be collected somewhere so that someone is building a database on you to hack any of your accounts.
You will see questions like "Who remembers their first grade teacher", or "Where did you work first" or "what was your first car, first girlfriend/boyfriend,etc" or "Your first pet's name". All of this is possible security questions that you may be asked sometime when you open an account, and eventually you will get hacked. My Wife is always telling me that someone tells her so and so posted "Not to accept a friend request from me, my Facebook account has been hacked". Yea, I guess so, quit posting your entire Life story and all the details for everyone to see.

Yes, Dave, Facebook jail means you can't use your facebook account for a certain length of time. It is quite annoying for some of the reasons people get locked out when others, in my opinion, are posting xrated and worse stuff and they don't get in trouble for it. Sorry you are being punished for saying the same thing all of us would have said, Bob. I hope it's not for too long.
