Hey philsand what is it that you are attempting to do? Most any drill bit will penetrate the light Peggy plastic. Are you drilling extra drain holes in the bottom.?
I want extra drainage and I am installing the porches. There are dimples to show me where to drill but my new drill absolutely will not penetrate that material. I told the hardware man I was drilling through plastic. But no luck.

I did all of my drain holes with a 1/4 in wood drill bit cut through it with ease I think I use a 3/16th for the porches just to make sure the push pins hold tight. Hope this helps.

Absolutely. Glad you posted that. I drilled ,my first one with a drill bit the same size of indentions that marked the locations and my push pins did not fit. The holes were too big. I ended up using nuts and bolts on that tunnel. Then I used the 3/16th bit and all worked out just fine from then on.
Any drill bit will cut plastic really well specially if the drill is switched for the correct direction. I did that as well. Once.

You have no idea how hard it was for me to find a way to bring that up without sounding like a smart a$$. But since I noticed first hand you can't drill plastic in reverse I just had to find a way.
Good luck to you this season.

I use a 1/4" Brad Point drill bit for drilling plastic gourds. Works great!
