So when you drive home for the day and hear that familiar sound, how many turn into a 5yr old cracked out on skittles jumping around the house !?! :shock:

Martin Colony History: See Signature

As soon as I hear and see them return I start my hawk deterrent program and spend more time looking for them than I do enjoying the Martins for a brief period of time.

I've not seen a hawk yet this spring but I'm sure the noise will attract her.

They have been sighted in Louisiana so I am walking around staring up at the sky. Neighbors are saying "Uh oh, must be that time again".

.. This is the funniest thing that happened to me... I had new neighbors moving into the house next door. The same day that my Purple Martins had just returned... My wife was running in and out of the back door yelling “The Martins are here”.. “The Martins are here”. Our new neighbors must have thought we were nuts yelling “The Martins are here” “The Martins are here” .. Come to find out in a few days later that our new neighbor’s name was Jim and Sue Martin.. No wonder they looked at us like we were crazy... Got to Laugh ... :grin: :grin:

Too funny!!! :lol: Similarly, I had previously posted on another thread that I told my sister that I'll be busy in February because the martins arrive. She later told my sister-in-law that I was expecting the martins in February. My sister-in-law replied "Do I know that family?" :shock: Brent
