RECOVERY
Now that the weather in the southern states is (somewhat) returning to normal, it has become apparent that we've lost hundreds, if not thousands of purple martins.
I see a lot of landlords asking the question, "what was the impact"? Who knows what the real impact in numbers was. But, what many landlords don't know - or realize however, is there have been even more purple martins lost over the years, due to another natural occurrence - one over which they would have total control. Preventing climbing predators from killing them and their nestlings
With the recent losses in the south, it is now even more critical that we ensure they have every opportunity for increased nesting success.

Hello Dave
I can grasp a wooden pole a varmint could clime,
But theses aluminum poles could be be given a coating of oil. So high up. Oil never wears out it just gets dirty.
