Has anyone in Texas or Louisiana seen any free flying Martins? Just wondering if there may be a chance that some will show up that were not here for the bad weather. I haven't seen any at all. Had 5 before the freeze and found 3 in the house dead. 2 male and 1 female. The other 2 I'm not sure what happened to them.

I can tell you this, that before the major freeze I counted 15. Seven died and after the freeze I counted 20. More were coming in.🙂

Two residents here before the freeze, nothing now and none flying. I visited two nearby parks today where Martins typically hang out and none there either. However there are several area reports on eBird after Feb 20 so this is promising. Houston west side.

Good news, three here first thing this morning, singing and checking out the housing. New arrivals I suppose. Hopefully more are showing up at other sites across the area.

Today great news. Two males and one female showed up. Also Mr Hawk is alive and well, seen flying low circles.
