It looks great. My only concern would be with the trio metal door opening, I would cut out the old small opening to match it with the same size of the tunnel. I would be afraid that the martin may get stuck within the tunnel due to the small turn around space if he is battling with another young SY male. They can get wing entrapments with just a troyer tunnel, although uncommon. By having the added old trio entrance it may be too little for the martin to manuever. If you did enlarge the trio opening, then I think there would be no issues for the martins.

I made the opening 3" to match the tunnel opening. I really like the owl guards I put on. I'm thinking of only puting then on one of the two houses I have at the end of the season. Both of my houses have deep cavities. I don't want to have too much of a change being I only have one pair this year. Unless you don't think it will bother them next year.

Hi Dave,
I do my best checks from the back doors. My goal is to put the new doors on all my holes on both houses for next year. After this year is done but don't want to scare off my pair for next year when they come back.

You have done a wonderful job this year. I would say that you could just wait until the end of the season after the martins are gone before doing any more changes.
