I can't comment on that particular speaker. When I was playing the dawnsong I went to WalMart and purchased a cheap CD player alarm clock. At my old house I had it sitting in a trash bag on a milk crate up against my pole barn. They would last three years or so that way until the weather would finally get to them. At my current house my front porch is close enough that I set it out there and it lasted longer being out of the rain. My dawnsong CD was something like 75 minutes long. I would set the first alarm to go off at 4:00 am and then the second to go off at 5:15 or so. That would get me to daylight and then I would sometimes go out and start it again when I woke up (depending on my work schedule). I really never had a way to set one up on a timer and run a speaker like that so the alarm clocks worked perfect for me.

Im sure there are cheaper ones out there but this is the first one I saw on Amazon that was dual alarm and played CD's as the alarm, in case your interested in going that route.

What kind of system are you going to use to run it and get it on a timer etc?

Ignore this post if you don't want to get lost in tech weenie world, but jump to the last paragraph if you have 1. a spare cell phone and 2. access to a blue-tooth speaker. there you'll see a fairly simple way to get a repeating dawn song going.

ok, tech weenies, 2 years ago I found in a drawer an old mp3 player (Sansa clip) which allows you to go into repeat mode where it plays an mp3 over and over. It also has a record mode where you can talk into it and it can play back also in the repeat mode. So... I set the mp3 player next to a CD player. I played the dawn song cd on the CD player while recording it on the mp3 player. then, I could have the mp3 loop play the dawn song around the clock. Next, I plugged the headphone jack out into the aux in jack on a radio so equipped. I got one of those 120v timers which people use to control power outlets for certain times during the day. (Often used to have lights go on at times while you're on vacation, etc.) So. the mp3 player plays the song 24/7, but it can't be heard until the radio is on. And the radio is only on when the timer gives it electricity so, every day here the dawn song can be heard from 6am till 6pm automatically.

Now for a simpler solution. Blue tooth speakers can be found for as little as $10, and everyone has their older cell phone on a drawer, right? Find the Martin day chatter, or dawn song on YouTube and record it on the cell phone's record app. (download a sound record app. if you need to.) Now you can play the martin music on the blue-tooth once connected. There are quite a few recording apps out there, and the older cell phones still can download them through your local wi-fi even if they are not on a phone plan. Behold. Play your recording in the repeat mode till you drive the rest of the family nuts!

tboydshirt that is pretty Clever.

I am using a old spare laptop computer using Windows Task Scheduler to call the Dawn song in Windows Media player. "That's little Technical"

I have the computer audio output for head phones hooked to the Aux. Input of a Stereo. Speaker Wires threw the window out to the speaker.

Hope I didn't loose anybody in that Description.
