Martin Colony History: 2017 Had a lot visitors no Matins nesting, hoping 2018 will be different.
2018 Had 1 pair
2019 had 30 pair

Well my first TS showed up today 8) . That means that the Martins are not that far away. I really hope that they stay away for a few more weeks until the weather gets better, but it is great to see a swallow in the yard. :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin:

I think the tree swallows are beautiful little birds. We live too far south to be in their nesting range.

I see a few in their migration north. The Martins that are here have a fit when one shows up. It will stay a day or two and then head further north.

Tree Swallows have extended their nesting range far enough south that we have had them here for around 10 years. My first Martins have arrived before the TS every year until this year. I saw my first TS yesterday and still don’t have any Martins back.
Martin landlord since 2003. Currently offering 162 plastic gourds with tunnels, all with Conley II entrances with the Lewis modification. I have 24 Supergourds and the rest are Troyer Horizontals.

Good to hear. Around here the TS are also a sign that the PM's are a couple weeks away. I do remember a few years ago we had some TS in the yard in late February, during a warm spell. That is at least a month earlier then the normally arrive. And it wasn't a much warmer winter then normal either that year.

Thanks everyone and after I posted this 5 more showed up. I love seeing them and they do not bother my Martins as they have there on housing with the Bluebirds.
