Dropped my two colonies today. The Tri-Tel with 6 Troyer Horizontals is still batting .000. Just used for perching. The second colony is now up to 19 eggs in 4 of the 24 gourds on this spread. A S&K B011 has 5 eggs as it did on the 4/13 check. This gourd had a single egg on the 4/6 check - hatch 4/25. A B09 with 4 eggs on 4/13 and 4/20 - hatch 4/28. A B09 with 2 eggs on the 4/13 and 5 on 4/20 - hatch 4/30. And a B09 with 5 eggs observed today, none on 4/13 so clutch may not be complete but I'm prognosticating a 5/5 hatch. I'm using the magic prognosticator wheel, of course.
Fun and games in Martin Land. Peace and Happy Easter to y'all and will bring more news with next week's nest check.

2019 6 pair -21fledged
2020 18 pair -60 fledged
2021......to be seen.
24 natural gourds on a satellite rack,9 other gourds scattered around
2-12 compartment trio houses
Rarely see a sparrow or starling, but when I do they don’t last long!
Will have a second satellite rack for the 2022 season and phase out the houses, the martins here strongly prefer natural gourds.
Happy Easter er body. David in Louisiana here . Yesterday and today all morning long I finally saw heavy nest building with my three pair ,mud weeds ,green leaves etc. It also seems like another fourth pair was scoping out the place too! You could tell they were new because you could see the others going in and out building in the sights they stay in and this other pair was circling and landing here there and yonder kinda scattered around as if trying to decide where they liked. We’ll see how that plays out this evening at dark and the next day or so. But,I am ecstatic my three pr are off to a start to getting my colony going !!
