I have 8 gourds (mixed (Super Gourd & S&K). Last year I had a full house all of had successfull hatching. This year I only have one pair return.
Must have been hard winter or something. Anyone else seen this? I’m in southern Illinois.

- Martin Colony History: The 1972 St. Agnes flood wiped out all the Martins in my area. One day, in 1997-98, 5 or 6 Martins landed on the power wires crossing my back yard. I had no house for them. They kept coming back day after day. We got a martin house a few weeks later & they have been coming back every year since. I average 12-15 pair per year.
Yes. Same here. I'm in central PA & only half of my ASY Males have returned & no SY males yet. Add to that I just lost an ASY Male to a starling attack.

I feel your pain.
I'm in east central Indiana, and for the first time in 15 years, I have NO martins. I have a total of 32 gourds, and typically half of them are occupied. But I haven't heard or seen a single martin this year, even though I've done nothing differently this year compared to past years. One gourd has been taken over by a tree swallow, but I haven't even had trouble with sparrows or starlings.
Is it possible that, at this late date, I'll still get some late arrivals?

I don't think it is possible that all your ASY's are running this late. It would be more likely that something happened late last year or over the winter (tree encroachment??). The odds would also be pretty low that 15-20 pair from the same site all died over the winter. Is it possible you had a predator attack or something at the end of last year?
What part of east central Indiana are you from? I'm near the Henry/Delaware Co line....
