Well, the toughest one of the bunch made it home first and it she is an ASY female from room 28 on pole #3. Came home and she was on one of the poles just looking down at her house (they were ready to go up, just plugged and lowered). Scrambled the first of many eggs and she ate a couple/three chunks on the fly, but with 35 mile an hour winds out of the northwest today, she won't go to the tray. We will let her sleep tonight in a warm, dry, pre-nested room and get her fed tomorrow when the winds tone down and the sun shines.
The last fifty miles this girl flew were into horrible headwinds and probably all the way across lake Erie from the north shore of Ohio to our house ten miles inland. She is tough, and we love her...so it starts, one here, lots more to come....

She is one weird bird...eats about three or four pieces of egg, only on the fly, nothing off the feeder, and the settles somewhere else within sight of me. Pretty sure she is training me rather than the other way around. I have never had a solitary female first, so this is new. Not much vocalization, she is constantly looking around for others, extremely wary and definitely not a binge feeder. She looks good and moves around really well, so she must be doing fine, I think she just needs some company or something like that. Well at least she is eating something.
Come one warmer weather...
Lizzie, here is a picture from last year when it was warmer of my setup, we are no where near this green yet, still freezing here
