Dawn song question
At nightfall last night I saw a Martin swoop in and enter a nest. Heard him/her singing for several minutes. If I have good reason to think I had an overnight guest, do I still play Dawn Song in the morning? I’ve got it going now, but to dark to know what’s going on out there.

No. You could set a speaker in a new car lot and bring martins in for a look, but you want them coming to a martin house because they spotted it and are interested. Your martin spending the night will try to bring in females and they may not relax if the audio is playing. that's my theory anyway and I'm sticking to it.

I have to agree that once you have Martins staying at you site stop playing the Dawn Song. The whole idea is to get them to your site and once they stay they will bring others into the site.
