Last week I had from 50-200 pms coming to houses at night. As of the last 2 nights im down to 20. I feel sader by the day because I lost my cat Shami in Feb and my Dog Wrangler in March. The pms leaving is like a completion of a death trilogy for me. It will be a long winter for me.

This has been an interesting season for me. At my new colony I have been trying to start I had three pair. The first nest fledged the previous Wednesday and by the next Sunday those birds had all left. At my old colony I experienced this a lot. I am not sure if it is because I am a little further north or what but typically within a few days of a nest of young learning to fly they would disappear for the season. This year my last tow nests to fledge began flying last Saturday and Sunday (week and a half ago). As of last night they were still returning in the evenings. I am seeing them less and less each day. I have never had fledges stick around this long, I am enjoying it. The weather has been perfect since they fledged so hopefully they are getting exercised and full bellies for the flight south.

Martin Colony History: 1st year....just visitors.
2nd ......praying!.......prayers answered 5/28/16 with 10 couples and lots of 1st year males. Making improvements and planning for 2017 and beyond.
3rd year.....all compartments on both poles (28 + 18) and planning on 18 more for 2018.
2018 added gourd rack (18 gourds)
4th/5th/6th year ......established colony.
2022 added 2 new poles with polywood T-14’s. Filled up 1st year in use.
2025 adding 3 new poles with polywood T-14’s +12 gourds.
Total: 8 poles, 84 T-14 compartments, 64 gourds. (148 nest cavities)

This seasons end has been hard on me too. I'm slightly depressed from my birds leaving and today I winterized my 2 fishing boats and stored them for the season. I keep telling myself, come March and April of next year spirits will be high. GaryU
