92 MPH wind gust

About 2 weeks ago at around 2 in the morning we had a storm past through . This storm had a 92 MPH wind gust that wasn't to nice to my Martin colony . I knew it was bad and I didn't have the courage to go outside to look over the damage . My daughter was out there at 3 in the morning releasing any trapped martins . I use very heavy galvanized steel poles . The wind did not break the poles, but bent them sideways . I lost some gourds and a couple of houses. I took the next day off and repaired all the damage . It took me from day break to sunset with the help of my daughter. The martins spent the entire day watching me repair the damage . As soon as one house went up they were all over it .Unfortunately , I couldn't install the housing exactly like it was before the storm , so it was mayhem that eveving when the martins came in . The martins adjusted and everything was back to normal the next day. My set up had survived 75 MPH winds before , but I guess 92 MPH winds was too much for my set up it to handle .
I had the same thing happen to me 3 years ago we had to did out the posts and put 12 bags of concrete in each hole with many stell rods so far okay

2015 Jun 24 360 babies and 58 eggs also found one that had died
2017 632 babies 11died and 20 were killed by hawks

- Martin Colony History: 2016 Informed landlord now Have 2 pair returning from 2015 That is a miracle. Hoping for a very successful year, sparrow population on decline.
First house was plastic with crescent holes Had martins within a few days. Ignorant landlord gradually lost them
Then got Trio House and still lost most of them. Lots of sparrows
Wow so sorry. You definitely are a dedicated landlord. I guess I am fearful. When storms are predicted I lower the houses whether the martins like it or not. Last year my male adapted to the house being lowered quite readily. His mate was kind of reluctant but eventually spent the night inside. They probably had much less of a roller coaster ride. But that's just me. I don't have anyone to do damage control for me.
I'm glad you got pretty good repairs done. Interesting that your martins watched you fix their abode. Shows their attachment to you.

2016 Started with 2 pair, 1 pair abandoned after HOSP destroyed eggs
1 pair= 6 eggs, 6 fledged
2017 1 pair so far, But they abandoned before nest complete for ?reason? Now Bridless and joined the Wannabes
2018 One pair ASY male SY female 5 eggs, 5 fledged
