Visitors
I have had 2 pairs of adult male and females for 3 days now. They have their selected places 1 pair in Gourds 1 pair in house. Most of the fighting has ended and they seem to fly as a group everywhere they go. At what point can you saw they have made this their home. They don't seem to spend the night here, they just show up after daylite, is this normal activity. When they come in everyone goes to their house and then fly on top of their perches and begin grooming and singing. Are they still looking for homes? I don't want to get my hopes up to high.

Probably the best way is to see them spend several nights, and early in the season, they may come in right before dark, so you need to watch for them to return late. If they go into the same cavity several times, then they probably belong to you. If you have a colony nearby, you may be getting visitors from that colony, but visitors usually do not go into your gourds or houses. Martins love to socialize with neighbors. If they are fighting, then that usually means that they belong to you, as they are defending their nests. I think that they belong to you. Protect them from snakes, starlings and sparrows. Good luck
