- Martin Colony History: 2016 Informed landlord now Have 2 pair returning from 2015 That is a miracle. Hoping for a very successful year, sparrow population on decline.
First house was plastic with crescent holes Had martins within a few days. Ignorant landlord gradually lost them
Then got Trio House and still lost most of them. Lots of sparrows
I just received word from Cheryl S husband. She very suddenly passed away Sunday. I am shocked as I had just met a super duper local martin friend. Was looking forward to going to the Tulsa Roost Party with her on Aug 6. She had taught me a lot. I am shocked beyond words and will really, really miss her.

How very sad, she was way too young. What a terrible loss for her family. Her martins were very lucky to have her for a landlord.

My condolences to the family. She lived her life fully and will be missed by all whom she touched. We shared the same trials and joys of our martins, she encouraged me to keep going. I'm stunned and heartbroken. I can't begin to imagine the loss her family is feeling. My prayers are with them.

This news was a shock. We had some e-mail exchanges just a day or two before she died. Was looking forward to seeing her at the Roost Watch on Aug. 6th. She and her husband created a wonderful martin colony in just a few years, and were doing all the right things to provide great housing and a safe environment for their martins. She had great energy and I believe she was mentoring some landlords in the area.
She was a special person, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

- Martin Colony History: The 1972 St. Agnes flood wiped out all the Martins in my area. One day, in 1997-98, 5 or 6 Martins landed on the power wires crossing my back yard. I had no house for them. They kept coming back day after day. We got a martin house a few weeks later & they have been coming back every year since. I average 12-15 pair per year.
How sad to have lost her life so young. Prayers & condolences to her family.
