We did our second nest check yesterday. We have 125 eggs, 17 babies. I hope they all stay healthy and fed to be able to fly to Brazil in July. We had a little problem with a pair of sparrows that were determined they were going to live in a gourd, no matter what. We tore out one gourd three times, another twice, and the last one just once and they finally got the message. We don't have any problems with starlings as we use starling resistant entrances. We did try shooting those pesky sparrows but just couldn't seem to get the right angle and Rob believes the sight is not correct on the air rifle. This is our 26th year of hosting Purple Martins and we hope it's a good one for us and all you out there!
