Hi all
Been VERY busy with the move and getting the old place ready to sell, but I had to drop a line today. For today I saw my first Martin at my new place! About 3 Days ago I heard a Martin singing the dawn song at 5am and it just made my day. Gave me some hope too! While at my old house earlier today, one of my x/pair showed up to scold me a little. I am happy to report that at least some of my birds have found a new home at a neighbors houses just down the block. I had talked with him and his wife at a yard sale last fall and FINALLY convinced them they needed to move their housing out from under some huge trees. I stopped in March and told him I had moved, and to expect my birds to stop by, and maybe move in since he moved his housing. He was very excited since he's been trying for several year. I haven't talked to them since I saw the birds there, but I will!
Well I'll go now and check up on all of you  Hope you all have a great year!
Tony

Great update Tony!
That is super news about you seeing a Martin at your new location!
That is also wonderful that your old location Martins have some nice housing very close by they can divert to.

Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.

Hey hey hey! Just the other day I was thinking I wonder how GT is doing. I hadn't seen you on here since I got active again. Didn't know about your move if you posted prior. Starting over and heard a martin! So glad. For the wannabes, you are my wannabe hero. I will never forget all you tried and that a family bbq and country music did the trick. Good to hear from you!
Take care

Thanks Deb & Matt,
My new looker showed up again this morning with another in tow, but that one was having nothing to do with it. He's just sitting out there as we speak looking and waiting (just like me) :P
