- Martin Colony History: Started trying to attract purple martins in 2012! It's finally happened in 2017! 5 years!!! ASY male and SY female came May 1st, fledged 5 babies!
Hi Mike, I was told last year that only established colonies should report scouts. Maybe they've changed it! I think they should. I could have reported mine on March 22. Maybe someone can chime in on this. Thanks

I think they changed that. I remember that a few years ago (2008?) when I had my first pair, I didn't report since that was the recomendation. This year, when I put up a new, and awsome T-14 house to try again, after several years with no birds, I read everything on the form about scout reports, and they no longer ask that you be an established landlord to report. I put in my report.
