if the trees around the colony are so high that the only thing they need to navigate are the trunks does that still have the same implications? I can put my new houses next to a major river here in oregon and the branches start at approx 40 feet high in a few pines. Seems like there is a lot of navigation room in and out..but i am a novice. Only have limited time, really could use some experience on this.

A pic of your site would give us a better view of what your dealing with..as long as you a couple of open flyways to your site, your chances increase..and keep your housing at least 50 ft from the taller trees..and the same from your buildings..good luck..
