- Martin Colony History: 2016 first attempt. Six Bo9 gourds with tunnels and SREH on home made rack. Moderate HOSP pressure managed with .22 cal. pellets and the assistance of a pair of militant bluebirds nesting nearby.
By way of my first post I would like to say HI neighbor! I'm so glad so see there is a big colony in Shawnee. I am just west of you in Bethel Acres. This year will be my first attempt at attracting martins. I have six gourds up and ready, holes currently plugged. I look forward to hearing about your arrivals as I watch the skies..kjlandry wrote:My martins should arrive here in Shawnee, Oklahoma any day now! Everything is ready and waiting, even the nice warm weather!
Glad to hear there are more martin landlords nearby. There used to be another large colony about 2 miles south of me on the east side of Shawnee. I am south of Westech Road , north of I-40. I hope you have a great year and get martins! Let me know if you need anything!
