I haven't been on a Purple Martin forum in quite a while. I don't know if any of my old Internet friends are still hanging around, but hopefully so. If you're still hanging around, stop and say howdy.
At any rate, I've got Martins back again. Another year as a landlord has started.
I'm not obsessed by Martins like I was over a decade ago when I started but there's still something almost magical about those first arrivals. I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I looked out and saw them yesterday morning.
I am starting my 13th season at my current and permanent location, and unless something terrible happens this will be my 11th season with over 100 pairs here.
The weather looks great for them for the next couple of days, then winter is predicted to return.

Oh yeah, who broke the old forum? LOL I had to re-register. This is now the 3rd "different" PMCA forum I've been a member of. Does that make me old?

Hey Brad!
I'm still here! lol Great to here your Martins are arriving, I know mine are not to far behind yours. Yes there have been alot of changes in all of the martin forums but some of us just keep finding ways to connect. Do you have any tree swallows yet?

Hey Darryl! Good to hear from you. Nope I haven't seen a Tree Swallow yet. With the weird winter we had I was seeing the migrating flocks of them moving through last year until November.

Good to see you're doing ok man....
I'm with ya on the obsession. It's not near like it was, but still there somewhat. Migration is slow this year, bunches of folks complaining, and I don't have as many back as I did this time last year. How's your business with your brother going? (hope I remembered correctly)

Well hello Mr Gerber.
The business is doing great. We are blessed beyond measure. It is taking up most of my quality time, so I don't have as much piddling time as I use to. Since I'm not in the commercial poultry business anymore I don't have to worry about any "biosecurity" issues like I use to and now I can have as large a Martin colony as I want. I just don't have time now to make it any bigger. LOL
I would like to get up to 200 pair though and will one of these days.
The birds are on their schedule and will get here when they get here, and besides, late is good. They don't have as much risk of being food stressed. See I told you I don't worry about them like I use to.
