Has anyone used the Tri Flow teflon spray on their aluminum poles to help when lowering and raising the rack. I read a while back in forum it helped. I was wandering if it left the pole sticky and would cause nats, bugs and dirt to stick to it?

Hi Mark.
I have never used Tri Flow to lubricate my martin poles, but have used it for other purposes. It is a good lubricant and relatively light. I do not think it would cause the problems that you inquire about, such as a heavier lubricant like LPS-3, oil or grease might. And if there were any problems it would be relatively easy to wipe off.
Good luck with your anticipated colony growth this year.

Mark,

If the lubrication doesn't stop the rack from chattering as it descends I would look into the possibility that it is a balancing problem. Check with the rack's manufacturer to see if they have any recommendations for stopping the chattering or the use of a type of lubricant.

Bill --- Your right ,, if the house is off center, it will chatter or make scraping noises going up and down..
