Martin Colony History: Started trying to attract purple martins in 2012! It's finally happened in 2017! 5 years!!! ASY male and SY female came May 1st, fledged 5 babies!

My great friend Jody emailed me and said she was having trouble seeing the scout report. Well I just got the time and when I click on fla. I get Missouri. Map is not right. Is any one else having the same problems. Could be my old iPad. Thanks

here's a tweak -

Use the + and - in lower right of dot map to zoom in for closer view.
Click view in list format, then click on state, and scroll down to view reports in list, which can be sorted by city, date, or name.

IF the map is not bringing up the state you want -try this:
When you click on a state (Florida in this instance) on that blank map it will give you this link; https://www.purplemartin.org/research/s ... =2016&S=FL
if you go to click on Florida and wind up in Manitoba; https://www.purplemartin.org/research/s ... =2016&S=MB change those last two letters to the state abbreviation you want to see, so for Texas, delete MB and type in TX and it will go to the 2016 reports for Texas

Same thing for previous years as well, so to view 2015 Texas reports, change the year to 2015 and state abbr. to TX and you should be good to go.

Another way to fix is to drag the page as large as you can on screen, then you can usually click on state and get list for that state to come right up.

When you log in to report a scout arrival, you will be asked for your PMCA account log-in - this is not the same as your forum account log-in. If you need help with that log-in, let us know.

I have tried zooming in. Then going to white map, I am clicking into the Atlantic Ocean for Florida.
It does not ask me to log n when I go to it. Not sure what is happening. When I did it at the beginning I could do it. Not sure what's up. Thanks for your time!

Sharon, you only have to log in to report a scout, not to view the data.

Here is the list that comes up from clicking on FL, from the white map: https://www.purplemartin.org/research/s ... =2016&S=FL
That same link will show any state if FL is replaced with GA, LA etc.

Well I don't have a scout to report! That's why I did not go there! When web site was new it worked fine the way I did it. Also log on is not letting me long on. Oh well! I'll keep messing with it when I can! Thanks Louise :)

Martin Colony History: Back in the 50's and 60's had big colonies in Michigan. From 70's onwards, plenty of houses but no takers. Moved to mid Florida in 2020. Hope to establish a colony as soon as I can get a plot of land in the country to erect the housing.

I've been trying since mid December and am unable to get even the map to load, as it comes back with ' unable to process.
I live in Michigan, but enjoy watching the reports come in, first to the southern border of Tennessee, then 2 weeks later at the southern border of Michigan. Am beginning to think I am going to an old web site.

Joe, there is a video about the scout report on the main web page: https://www.purplemartin.org/
Scroll down a tad to view it -

This link should take you right to the Scout-Arrival study page: https://www.purplemartin.org/research/8 ... val-study/

If you cannot see it at all, are you using a smart phone, ipad, regular computer? Some smart phone users have problems, and the web developer is working on tweaks for them. I use an apple computer and ipad to view it all okay.

I am having the same problem as Sharon on my iPad. When I click on Louisiana, I get Kansas, etc. I finally got the Louisiana results by clicking out in the Gulf of Mexico. Then I read this post and tried Louise's solution and it works fine. This is probably an iPad problem and doesn't happen on a PC.

Thanks.

Martha, try dragging your browser window as large as you can, then you can usually click on the right state with no problems. Or change the last two letters in url to show the states you want.

Yes, I have that problem also. I finally decided it's an Apple thing. I can finally get it on my Samsung Galaxie phone but not my iPad and Mac computer. This is the only report I've seen about this except for mine.

I am getting the scout report on mac computer and ipad - the problem was first reported with iphones, then when web developer started reworking things, it popped up with other devices, but they hope to have a fix soon. For now, the tweaks listed (change last two letters for state in URL, and drag map window as large as possible) seem to work for many.
