What kind of gourd rack? How many gourds? What kind of wood is the pier? What condition is the wood on the pier? Weather, wind, heighth of rack? - Martin Colony History: 2017 Had a lot visitors no Matins nesting, hoping 2018 will be different.

2019 had 30 pair
I mounted my gourd rack to my piers. I took the ground socket and drilled 2 holes. One about 4 in. from the bottom and then about 18 in from that hole. I used a 5/8 , 8 in long wood bolt and screwed it into the pier. If the pier is real old I would drill completely through the pier and use washers, bolts and lock nuts.
