Martin Colony History: Started in 1992 From neighbors old 1950-60's colonies. Have 8 Trio 6 Room Houses, 4 MPP Poles, 1 Heath Deluxe Gourd with Troyer Porch, 8 NatureLine Gourds with Troyer Porches, 5 Troyer Horizontals ,& 2 S&K 11" WITH Troyer Porches ready for 2019 Season !

I can't believe that I've been seeing this Inca Dove Mama make a nest ON TOP of a Street Light since late July with NO Shade or protection ! :shock:! She sits there during the day in 99-102 Degrees of blazing heat, no rain, AND now there appears to be a baby with her ! the baby looks Almost old enough to fly soon. The Mama goes out in the early morning to feed & of course feed the young (one?/2?). How does she live sitting in the sun every day protecting her young ??? :shock: :???:

Martin Colony History: Started trying to attract purple martins in 2012! It's finally happened in 2017! 5 years!!! ASY male and SY female came May 1st, fledged 5 babies!

She's one tough Moma is all you can say!! Hope she gets them in the air. She deserves that. :grin:

Thanks Sharon, she sure is ! I forgot to mention that the only reason I noticed her was that she's across the street from my PM houses, & I caught sight of her as I watched my PMs flying around ! :grin:

Thanks Diane, I last saw them this Tue. evening out in the 104 temp ! Wed. morning they were gone, just as long awaited rain showers came by in the afternoon. Thurs., I didn't see anything left of the nest after 3 showers had passed. Seems they knew when to leave JUST in time ! :wink:
Looking for them made me notice passing PMs flying WAY High over my PM houses ! :grin:
